On Wednesday, April 28, the heads of diplomatic missions of the Baltic republics were summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. They were vigorously protesting against the unfriendly actions. Moscow stressed that Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania continue to pursue a hostile course towards Russia under various pretexts. This time they are trying to justify their Russophobia by "pseudo-solidarity with the indiscriminate actions of the Czech Republic," the message says.

The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that, according to the principle of reciprocity, two Lithuanian diplomats, as well as one Latvian and one Estonian, were declared persona non grata. They must leave the territory of Russia no later than in a week.

Also, three Slovak diplomats were expelled from Russia in response to the actions of the Slovak authorities, which demanded that three employees of the Russian embassy leave the country. The Ambassador of Slovakia was told that the decision of Bratislava is detrimental to "traditionally friendly Russian-Slovak relations and constructive bilateral cooperation."

Two days ago, the Italian military attaché was declared persona non grata "as a response to the unfriendly and unjustified actions of the Italian authorities against the military attaché at the Russian embassy" in Italy.

Earlier, in response to Polish “provocative actions”, Russia expelled five employees of the diplomatic mission in Moscow. The department recalled that a few days ago, the Polish authorities decided to expel 3 Russian diplomats from the country. This decision was made under an "absurd" pretext, Poland followed the example of the United States. Overseas claim, without giving any evidence, that Moscow is allegedly involved in mythical cyberattacks on American soil.

A week earlier, Russia had declared two Bulgarian diplomats persona non grata. The measure was a response to the "unmotivated decision" to expel two representatives of the Russian diplomatic service in Sofia, adopted in March, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
