Cars of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) will be assembled in Ethiopia, TASS reports.

The plant noted that work will begin at the production site of Bazra Motors. The corresponding agreement was reached during the visit of representatives of the UAZ management to the African country. The document notes that the parties will launch production and develop sales of cars in Ethiopia.

The first deliveries are expected to begin in late summer. To begin with, Ethiopia will receive 64 vehicle kits. The design capacity of the plant will be 3,000 cars annually. It is planned to reach it in 2023.

The enterprise will be located in the city of Kombolcha. All UAZ models will be assembled there: "Patriot", "Pickup" and "Profi", as well as off-road vehicles "Hunter". The plant promised that in the future they will produce models of cars designed in accordance with the peculiarities of the Ethiopian market.
