Residents of the United States were offered to get acquainted with the heroes of Slavic mythology and make a birdhouse for a brownie with their own hands. The project was launched by ArtLinks, a non-profit organization based in Oregon. The best works are planned to be presented in June at the exhibition for the Day of the Summer Solstice, the organizers report on Facebook.

The authors of the project told their subscribers that in Slavic mythology, house spirits protect the well-being of the family. “They protect children and animals living in the house, take care of them,” the organizers say. "April is the month when the brownie wakes up after winter."

ArtLinks announced that participating in a project to create a birdhouse for a brownie will help to get acquainted with Slavic fairy tales and legends, as well as make your own hands (and with the support of family members) a birdhouse that can be hung on the street to help birds. Photos of birdhouses can be sent to  Oregonartlinks@gmail.com.
