Russian vocalist wins Muslim Magomayev competition

The winner of the 6th International Vocal Competition, which bears the name of the famous performer Muslim Magomayev, was a singer from Russia Dzambolat Dulaev. Another Russian, Soslan Kusov, came 2nd, TASS reports. The three leaders were closed by the representative of Ukraine Vitaliy Lashko.

Fifteen musicians fought for the victory. Among the contestants were performers from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Mongolia, Azerbaijan.

According to the famous artist, the widow of Muslim Magomayev Tamara Sinyavskaya, who headed the work of the jury, the number of those wishing to take part in the competition did not decrease this year. 15 performers were selected from a huge number of candidates.

According to the results of the qualifying stage, ten people made it to the finals.

Male contestants perform a work from the opera or pop repertoire of Magomayev, and the singer - a female opera part from the repertoire of the legendary baritone.

The competition is held every two years among professional performers aged 20 to 35 years old, who perform both classical and pop music.
