Students of the school at the Russian Embassy in China visited Russian military cemeteries in the city of Dalian and paid tribute to the soldiers of the Russian and Soviet armies who died in various wars and clashes in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports on Facebook.
The trip of schoolchildren and diplomats was organized on the eve of Victory Day by the representative office of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The group members marched through the places of military glory of Russia in the areas of Lushunkou (Port Arthur), Qingyunjie and Jinzhou of Dalian.
Servicemen of the Russian army who died in the late 19th - early 20th centuries and during the Russo-Japanese War are buried in the cemeteries. Also, the participants of the trip visited the graves of Soviet soldiers who died in August 1945 and during the Korean War.
Representatives of Russia laid a wreath and flowers at the memorial to Soviet soldiers located at the largest Russian military cemetery in Asia in the Lushunkou region. A tour of the forts and the bay of Port Arthur was held for the participants of the trip.
Russian schoolchildren took part in the improvement of the graves. At the Qingyunjie military cemetery, they renewed the inscriptions on the gravestones of the defenders of the Fatherland.
