Film from Romania wins main prize of Moscow International Film Festival

The winner of the Moscow International Film Festival became #dogpoopgirl, RIA Novosti reports. The award ceremony took place the day before, on April 29.

The award went to Romanian director Andrei Khutsulyak. The film is about bullying in social networks. According to the creators, the script was based on a genuine case when a woman who refused to clean up after her dog found herself in the middle of a scandal on the Internet.

The leading actress in this film, Andreea Gramosteanu, was recognized as the best actress. In the male nomination, the prize was given to an actor from Iran, Soheil Ghannadan, for his work in the film Son.

Russian Alexei Fedorchenko was named the best director. The award was given to his work "The Last" Sweet Bulgaria ", based on the work of Mikhail Zoshchenko.

The special prize of the jury of the film festival was awarded to the film "Bloodsuckers" by the German director Julian Radlmeier. The director from Switzerland Hogir Hirori with the film "Sabaya" received the award for the best documentary film - together with the tape "Amur Golgotha" by the Russian woman Yulia Sergina. The winner of the short film competition was Yannis Alexander Kiefer from Germany with the film Colleagues.

13 films competed for the Grand Prix. Among them are the works of directors from Spain, Japan, Greece, Norway, Venezuela and other countries.

The opening film was Timur Bekmambetov's film Devyatayev. It tells about the feat of the Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot Mikhail Devyatayev, the script is based on his memories.

The jury was headed by Filipino director Briyante Mendoza. Together with him worked Brazilian Karim Ainuz, laureate of Cannes and other film festivals, actor from Serbia Milos Bikovich, who recently received Russian citizenship, as well as Russian film composer Yuri Poteeenko and Russian director Nigina Sayfullaeva.
