The "Goryanka" film, created by the director from Kabardino-Balkaria Maryam Makhieva, received the main award for the best feature film at the Australian international documentary film festival Doc.Sydney. The Russian film tells about the modern inhabitants of the Caucasus, TASS reports.

The film was shot at the Gorky Film Studio with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture. The general director of the studio, Yuliana Slashcheva, called the documentary beautiful and kind and expressed the opinion that the film draws attention to the current topics of feminism and identity. Questions of religion and national traditions are also raised.

The heroines of the film are several successful women living in the North Caucasus. They are distinguished by willpower and the ability to achieve their goals. One of the participants in the film conquered Elbrus several times, another created a laboratory and successfully runs it.
