The works of Russian artists of Estonia will be presented in Tartu, Sputnik reports. The organizers of the “Russian ART of Estonia” project are the Tartu City Society of Slavic Cultures, the Association of Russian Artists in Estonia and the “Westervalli” Narva Art Association.

According to Tamara Khristoforova, a representative of the Tartu City Society of Slavic Cultures, the organization's activities began almost 30 years ago. It tries to draw the attention of the city authorities and cultural institutions of the city to how the Russian community of Tartu lives. This is especially important today, when restrictions aimed at preventing the development of a pandemic interfere with communication and cultural events.

Tamara Khristoforova believes that the new project may be the most ambitious presentation of Russian artists living in Estonia. The exposition will unite the creativity of fifty masters and will include 150 works.

The exhibition project is planned to be divided into two parts. One exhibition will open in the spring at the Vanemuine Theater, the second is scheduled for autumn, and may be held at the Estonian National Museum. Now the organizers are preparing the catalog for release. It will be bilingual, all information will be printed in Estonian and Russian.

Sergey Volochaev, chairman of the Association of Russian Artists in Estonia, is sure that Russian art is popular and loved in the Baltic republic. This is evidenced by numerous exhibitions of Russian artists both in Estonia and abroad.
