The documentary about the Bolshoi Theater, which is being filmed by an international Russian-German team, will be completed at the end of this year. Distributors from different countries of the world are showing interest in the project, the German-French channel Arte has already acquired the broadcasting rights, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

Work on the film began last fall and will last for about a year in the premises of the legendary theater. The idea of the film is to trace the daily life of the theater during one season.

The audience will be able to see how they rehearse, study, audition and prepare performances at the Bolshoi Theater. The characters of the film will be not only artists and directors, but also a large team of specialists who are behind the scenes. The coronavirus pandemic, during which the shooting takes place, added drama to the plot.

The documentary is expected to be finished by the end of the year. The Russian Star Media, Channel One and the online cinema KION are working on the project together with the famous German film company Kinescope Film, which has achieved international recognition in the field of documentary filmmaking.
