Three new exhibitions began work on Friday, April 30, at the branch of the Russian Museum in Malaga, according to the museum's Facebook page.

The "War and Peace in Russian Art" large-scale exhibition brings together almost 200 works. It presents works by Russian artists and sculptors, as well as masters of decorative and applied arts, which are kept in the funds of the Russian Museum. The public will see large-scale images of battle scenes, portraits of Russian military leaders, veterans and their descendants. Paintings by Vereshchagin and Vasnetsov, Kiprensky and Malevich, Petrov-Vodkin and Polenov, and other outstanding artists were brought to Spain. The exposition can be viewed throughout the year - it will run until mid-April 2022.

The "Ivan Aivazovsky and Marine Painters in Russia" exhibition contains works by the famous marine painter. Aivazovsky's paintings are complemented by the works of other masters, who also preferred the theme of the sea in their art.  The Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve took part in the preparation of the exhibition.

The “Leo Tolstoy. The Road of Life ” exhibition introduces the works of art that are associated with the name of the great classic of Russian literature. The key theme was his novel War and Peace. A special place is occupied by a drawing by Picasso. The artist painted it on September 15, 1956 on the flyleaf of the edition of War and Peace, translated into French.

These two exhibitions will be open until mid-October 2022.
