Russia extended the ban on flights with Great Britain for another month and a half. It will operate until early summer, RIA Novosti reports. Earlier, the Russian authorities suspended flights with the UK due to the worsening epidemiological situation.

Flights were stopped on December 22, 2020 after a new strain of infection was identified in Britain.

On the eve of April 15, the decision to restrict air traffic with Turkey came into force. The reason was the worsening epidemiological situation in the country. In addition, air traffic with Tanzania is completely cut off.

Until June 1, only regular flights between Moscow and Istanbul are allowed. Their number has been reduced to four flights per week, two flights by one Russian and one Turkish airlines. On the Russian side, Aeroflot will remain the designated carrier. In addition, charter flights are allowed to continue construction of the Akkuyu NPP.

The Russian government promised to resume air traffic when the epidemiological situation in Turkey stabilizes. The government advised travel companies not to sell tickets to Turkish resorts yet.
