Moscow and Beijing celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Neighborliness Treaty

The anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China was celebrated on the eve of May 3, TASS reports. Two decades have passed since this most important event for bilateral relations.

A large-scale concert was timed to coincide with the anniversary, in which perfromers from two Bolshoi theaters located in Moscow and Beijing took part. They performed works well-known in their countries, including excerpts from operas by Tchaikovsky and Borodin "The Maid of Orleans", "Mazepa", "Prince Igor", as well as the symphony "Ode to the Red Flag" by Lu Qiming, "Dance of the Red Silk" by Sheng Zongliang, "Victory is behind us" by Yin Qing other.

Musicians from China performed a fragment of Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker.

According to the deputy head of the Russian government, Tatyana Golikova, the good-neighborliness agreement has passed the test of time, it fixes a new quality of bilateral relations between Moscow and Beijing.

In turn, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan expressed confidence that the concert would further strengthen the interaction between countries and friendship between peoples, which is passed on from generation to generation.

The performance of musical groups from both countries delighted the audience in the hall of the Bolshoi Theater of the Chinese capital.
