The popularity of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine among the residents of the Czech Republic is much higher than that of the drugs Moderna and AstraZeneca. This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the CVVM and Median agencies, RIA Novosti reports.

If there was an opportunity to choose a drug, then every 7th citizen of the country would choose the Russian vaccine. Sputnik V would be preferred by 14% of respondents; it rounds out the top 3 most popular vaccines. The Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine is on the first line, followed by the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

It is noted that the Russian vaccine and the Chinese drug Sinopharm have not yet been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and therefore are not used in the Czech Republic.

As Russkiy Mir reported, UN Secretary General António Guterres highly appreciated the fact that Moscow provided the opportunity to vaccinate UN staff with its drug. “This is a very good sign,” he said. Antonio Guterres named Sputnik V as one of the key factors that will make it possible to resolve the issue of vaccination.
