2nd Russian Center to open in Iran

On June 22 - 23, a scientific and cultural online festival dedicated to the cooperation between Isfahan and St. Petersburg was held at the Isfahan University (Iran).

The festival was organized by St. Petersburg State University and Isfahan University with the support of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Isfahan, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and the municipality of Isfahan.

Vladimir Kochin, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, sent a video greeting to the festival participants. He said that the fund had concluded an agreement with the University of Isfahan to open a Russian Center, which will begin its work after the restrictive measures are lifted. 

The center will provide opportunities for studying Russian, gaining access to documents from Russian online libraries, getting acquainted with Russian art, watching Russian films, participating in various cultural events and meeting interesting people.

Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Jagaryan and Russian Consul General in Isfahan Boris Burmistrov, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Grigoriev, Rector of Isfahan University Khushang Talebi and Mayor of Isfahan Godratolla Noruzi greeted the festival participants.

In 2017, the country's first Russian Center was opened at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literature of Tehran University. The opening was attended by the chairman of the board of the foundation, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Vyacheslav Nikonov.
