More than 100 digital copies of documents, photographs, maps and other rarities from the funds of the Moscow Victory Museum have become exhibits of the Second Front exhibition, which opened at the International Research Center of World War II in Maribor, Slovenia. The center is located in the building of a former concentration camp, according to the Victory.RF website.
The Victory Museum noted that the exposition tells not only about the battles on the fields of the Second Front, it also acquaints visitors with the history of the struggle against Nazism, the Lend-Lease program and the details of the meeting of the Soviet and American armies on the Elbe, which became one of the symbols of victory in WW II.
The exhibits provided by the Russian museum include archival photographs, documents, maps, posters and other rarities telling about the cooperation between Moscow and the allies during the war years and the successes of the anti-Hitler coalition. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian diplomats, representatives of the mayor's offices of Moscow and Maribor, and other organizations of Russia and Slovenia.
