Tver region village is named the most beautiful

Tver region Ovsishche village received the title of the most beautiful village, TASS reports. It was added to the list of "The Most Beautiful Villages of Russia" association. The Association brings together small settlements with a unique historical, cultural and natural heritage.

Earlier this status was awarded to the village of Bernovo and the town of Staritsa. The Pushkin Museum is located in Bernovo. The great Russian poet came there m any times to visit his friends and to work on his poems, such as Anchar and Winter Morning, as well as some chapters of the novel Eugene Onegin which make part of the school program nowadays.  

The Milyukovs' estate is located in Ovsishche village. It used to welcome important artists of 19 century. The Milyukovs' estate is now state museum and cultural complex. Some of the art from the museum collection is now part of the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery funds.

One Day in a Russian Estate festival is held annually in Ovsishche. It is included in the calendar of touristic events in the Tver region.
