5 million foreigners visited Russia in 6 months

About 5 million guests from abroad have visited Russia during the first 6 months of 2021, RIA Novosti reports. Almost 65,000 of them were tourists.

In 2019, the same figure amounted to 15 million people.

Most foreign citizens arrived in Russia from the CIS states, their number amounted to 4.8 million. They were joined by guests from Turkey, India, Germany, China, the Philippines.

The largest number of tourists in the first half of the year came from Cuba - the number of such travelers exceeded 20,000 people. Previously, Cuba was never even on the top 10 of countries, the citizens of which visited Russia as tourists. The United Arab Emirates is in 2nd place on this list, followed by Turkey.
