International book fair starts in Moscow

More than 200 Russian publishing houses present their novelties at the 34th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF). It started on Friday, September, 24, TASS reports.

More than 300 events are included in the MIBF program. Creative meetings, presentations of book novelties, discussions, master classes, autograph sessions are going to take place within four days.

Many well-known authors will join the participants of the large-scale forum, including Narine Abgaryan, Pavel Basinsky, Vadim Panov, Polina Dashkova, Tatiana Ustinova, Sergey Shargunov. Alexander Prokhanov, Karen Shakhnazarov, Victor Remizov. Meetings with Alexey Ivanov, Dina Rubina and others are also scheduled.

Italian diplomat Francesco Forte will speak at the presentation of an art-digital-literary project timed to coincide with the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante, author of The Divine Comedy.

Representatives of the publishing industry will discuss the latest trends the book industry, including the audiobook market, the ecosystem of book publications, and self-publish book technologies. A conference dedicated to the issues of the book market is planned within the framework of the fair.

The MIBF's program of contemporary literature includes more than 100 events: presentations of new books, open discussions and master classes. More than 30 events are dedicated to children's literature. 

Representatives of various professions, including business coaches, doctors, psychologists, will share their professional experience at the fair.

Almost 50 museums and publishing houses will participate in the Museum Line. They will present new exhibitions and educational projects.
