St.Petersburg named best city for tourism

St. Petersburg has been named the best tourist city, TASS reports. It won the main prize of the GQ TravelAwards. 

The tourism award was founded by GQ magazine four years ago. The award is aimed at increasing the popularity of travel and the tourism industry and drawing attention to new and exciting destinations.

The magazine's readers choose their winners among countries, cities, and hotels. The vote is avialable online on the magazine's website.

For the first time in the entire existence of the award, St. Petersburg won in the main category. Previously, Moscow was unbeaten in this category.

St. Petersburg also won in the Best Hotel Bar category, with the award going to the Xander Bar located at the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace. The Mandara Spa at the Lotte Hotel was named the best spa.

In the "Best Airport" category, St. Petersburg Pulkovo took the 2nd place.
