Russia suspends work of its NATO mission

The diplomatic mission of Russia to NATO will suspend its work starting next month, TASS reports. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the decision was made after the Western military alliance expelled eight Russian employees claiming that they were intelligence officers.

The total number of accreditations available for Russia has been reduced in Brussels to ten. According to the head of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, said that such a decision was not connected with any incidents. 
 
Russia's Foreign Ministry called this NATO step "ridiculous."

Russia will also suspend the NATO military liaison mission in Moscow and recall the accreditation of its staff. The NATO Information Office in Moscow at the Belgian embassy ​​will also stop its work.
