Art Night action is taking place in Russian regions

The Art Night, all-Russian action timed to the Day of National Unity, has kicked off. Its events are avialable online, Russia's Ministry of Culture reports.

More than 50 live broadcasts by museums, libraries, and concert halls are included in the action.

The history of Russian art, customs and traditions became the main theme of broadcasts on the Odnoklassniki social network. The Historical Museum is going to hold lectures on painted storage chests of the 17th – 18th centuries. The Ethnographic Museum prepared an action entitled "Picture of the World in the Rites and Performances of the Eastern Slavs." And the Museum of Music offers a story about folk musical instruments.

On November 1, a special program began on the website, which is dedicated to traditional Russian art. Every day museums present their most interesting exhibits. Among other things, viewers will learn about a round balalaika,Vladimir horns, and Gzhel majolica. The project was joined by the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theater and Musical Art, the Bakhrushin Theater Museum, and the Museum of Music.
