The Russian emigrant of the first wave, Nikolai Turoverov, will be reburied in his small homeland, TASS reports. The Cossack poet, who took part in the Civil War as an officer of the White Army, is buried near Paris, in the legendary memorial complex in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois.

According to the deputy of the State Duma Viktor Vodolatsky, it was decided to bring the remains of Nikolai Turoverov to the Rostov region, to the village of Starocherkasskaya.

Viktor Vodolatsky added that Nikolai Turoverov wanted to be buried in his small homeland. He wrote about this in his will, the authenticity of which was confirmed by the French courts. A place has already been chosen for the grave - at the courtyard of the Svyato-Don Starocherkassk Monastery.

It is necessary to fulfill the last will of the poet, the parliamentarian is sure. His works - every story, every poem - are imbued with love for the Don, for his Fatherland.

Nikolai Turoverov was born in the village of Starocherkasskaya in 1899. He took part in the First World War, and supported the white movement. He left Russia on one of the last steamers to leave the Crimea during the Russian exodus in 1920, and settled in Paris. Turoverov was one of the founders of the Museum of the Ataman Regiment, where he served as a priest.
