The Conquerors of Space exhibition began working in Bucharest, TASS reports. Its opening was dedicated to two eventful dates at once: the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space and 40th anniversary of first Romanian cosmonaut Dumitru Prunariu's flight into space.

The exposition is located in the building of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo. It closes a series of actions that took place in honor of these dates.

The exhibition was organized and prepared by the Romanian Toy Museum Association. The exhibits include printed articles, books and magazines about space. They are complemented by stamps, matchbox labels, postcards, many souvenirs, paintings by local artists.

Russian Ambassador Valery Kuzmin is sure that this exhibition captures a history that will always be of interest to future generations. They should preserve the memory of the space pioneers in both Russia and Romania.

Dumitru Prunariu became the guest of honor of the exhibition.

The head of the Toy Museum Association, Christian Dumitru, noted that back in the day every child dreamed of a toy space rocket. And the popularity of science fiction has broken all records. It was then that the space collection began to take shape, he explained.
