According to the organizers, there are 15 eggs created for the representatives of the House of Romanov among the exhibits. Some of them have not been displayed in London before. The total number of exhibits exceeds 200 items.
The London museum noted that Faberge products are exhibited in Britain for the third time. The current exhibition tells the story of the Faberge business in London and focuses on the London branch of the house.
The Moscow Kremlin Museums have provided three jewelery Easter eggs for the British exhibition: Romanov Tercentenary Egg, the Moscow Kremlin Egg, and the Alexander Palace Egg. They are considered the symbols of the Faberge collection in the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
The Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve, the Hermitage, the St. Petersburg Faberge Museum also sent exhibits to London. Valuable items came from American, British, French museums and private collectors. Several exhibits were provided by the British Queen.
The organizers highly appreciated the cooperation with the Russian colleagues, thanking them for their assistance and support. The museum added that they had been preparing the exhibition for almost four years.
The tickets are sold out until the end of the year.
The exposition shows the entire journey of Carl Faberge: his travels, studies in Europe and how, returning to Russia in 1870, he headed the jewelry house created by his father.
