The number of spectators at the Russian Film Festival has exceeded 700,000 people in 22 countries, TASS reports.

According to the representative of Russia's Ministry of Culture, Svetlana Maksimchenko, the forum was held online due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

The festival was organized by the Roskino state company with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Film Fund and the Moscow Tourism Committee last year. It is aimed at introducing the foreign audience to the works of Russian filmmakers.

Earlier, the weeks of Russian cinema abroad were held in different formats. To date, the organizers have developed a unified strategy for promoting Russian cinema.
