Sputnik V shows 80% efficacy after 6 months of vaccination in San Marino

The efficacy of the Sputnik V vaccine in San Marino is 80 percent 6-8 months after the injection of the second component. According to the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, with this indicator, Sputnik V shows significantly better results compared to other vaccines, TASS reports.

Its efficiency level was calculated based on the data of more than 18,500 residents of San Marino. All of them received both vaccine components five months ago and earlier.

According to official figures, only 0.75 per 1,000 of those vaccinated with Sputnik V were hospitalized due to COVID-19 infection throughout the entire vaccination campaign (started in February this year.) These figures are two times higher for vaccines developed in other countries.

At the monent, over 70 percent of adult population in San Marino have been vaccinated with Sputnik V.
