About 700,000 people are to become Russian citizens in 2021, TASS reports. Kirill Adzinov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, recalled that last year this figure exceeded 650,000 people.

Earlier, the quota for residence permit was canceled for citizens of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Moldova. Within five months, this provision was used by 12,000 citizens of Moldova and Kazakhstan, as well as more than 50,000 Ukrainians.

The citizens of Belarus and Ukraine no longer need an interview to obtain the status of a native speaker of the Russian language. The process of obtaining a Russian passport for citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine has been simplified. It has become easier to obtain citizenship for spouses of Russian citizens and those who have common children with Russian citizens.
