The celebration of Feyodor Dostoevsky's 200th anniversary continues in Italy, TASS reports. A book exhibition has started at the National Central Library of Rome. It presents several dozen books that are associated with the great Russian writer. Among the exhibits are translations of Fyodor Dostoevsky's books into various European languages.

The library funds contain about 700 books related to Dostoevsky, notes Olga Strada, ex-director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow. She is also the coordinator of the anniversary program. The exhibition tells how Dostoevsky's books were received in European countries. The exhibition also pays special attention to the role of Russian émigrés in translating texts from Russian.

The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Rome is the organizer of the anniversary celebrations. According to the director of the Russian House Daria Pushkova, on December 22, an exhibition of works by Marco Bernardi based on Dostoevsky's story "The Dream of a Ridiculous Man" will open in the Umberto Mastroianni Gallery.
