Day of the Unknown Soldier celebrated in Russia

Day of the Unknown Soldier is celebrated in Russia on Friday, December 3, Voennoye Obozreniye reports. On Deecember 3, 1966, the remains of the unknown soldier were solemnly reburied in the Alexander Garden in Moscow. The monument to an unnamed hero, whose feat gained immortality, has become one of the most significant sights in the country. 

The memorable date was set in 2014. On December 3, the country honors the memory of all unkobwn soldiers who died defending their motherland. They sacrificed their lives in military conflicts on the territory of Russia or abroad.

A lot of commemorative actions are held in the regions of the country. Flower-laying ceremonies and special history lessons for schoolchidren are taking place on this day.

In honor of the memorable date, the names of fallen soldiers, whose identity was restored by the participants of the Russian Search Movement in 2021, will read.over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall and at other burial places in Russia.
