The Russian Literature salon has kicked off in Paris for the 7th time. Meetings, presentations of books by Russian-speaking and French authors and other events are taking place in the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Orthodox Center. The salon is dedicated to the anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky and the memory of the Russian writer Eduard Limonov, TASS reports.

Russian Ambassador to France Aleksey Meshkov opened the forum. The diplomat stressed that the return of the salon to traditional, offline format proved the importance of books in modern society.

The Russian Literature salon traditionally attracts writers, translators, researchers of Russian literature, as well as Russian emigrants living in France and Parisians interested in Russian culture.

The salon program is centered around the life and work of Fyodor Dostoevsky this year.  It includes presentations of books by French authors about Russian classics and their performances.

The salon will run until December 5.
