The Hermitage Museum restorers have found a candy from the early 20th century in the sleeve of the dress of Nicholas the second's sister, Xenia Alexandrovna. The Grand Duchess wore the dress to the famous costume ball in the Winter Palace in 1903, TASS reports.

The restorer Galina Fedorova, who found the candy at the Hermitage's Costume Gallery, explained that experts traditionally sort through museum clothes so that dust does not stay in the folds.

While examining one of the dresses, the restorer discovered that one of the sleeves was sewn up. After it was ripped open, a pink object slipped out of the sleeve. The restorer dared to lick it and realized that it was a fudge candy. An imprint with the name of the manufacturer is also visible on the candy.

Most likely, Xenia Alexandrovna took a bite of the candy, and then hid in her sleeve. The guests came to the ball in 1903 in costumes stylized as the era of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich.
