Russian President Vladimir Putin has raised the issue of discrimination against the Russian media during a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The conversation took place the day before, December 21, TASS reports.

Putin noted that the French authorities are putting pressure on the RT channel. The president stressed that the channel should have the same opportunities that are provided for the French media in Russia.

Earlier, the French Foreign Ministry refused to issue accreditation to RT France.

Earlier, Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich pointed to the extremely difficult situation of  RT France. RT journalists have press cards and all the necessary licenses, but are denied access to the Elysee Palace and other government offices. Official representatives of the French authorities often call openly for a boycott of the Russian media. According to him, various European structures have adopted many resolutions and initiatives, which have become instruments of censorship against the Russian media.
