Yaroslavl becomes next capital of Total Dictation

Yaroslavl is going to be the next capital of the Total Dictation action, TASS reports. 

A city becomes the capital of the dictation for one year. Every year many Russian cities compete to host the Total Dictation. After the application deadline on December 15, the jury chooses the winner based on the presentations made. 

In 2021, the capital of the Total Dictation action was Yakutsk, a port city on the Lena River, in east Siberia.

Coming dictation to take place not only in Yaroslavl but worldwide as well on April 9, 2022. The text for the dictation to be composed by prominent Russian writer Marina Stepnova. The head of the Total Dictation Foundation Olga Rebkovets reminded that Stepnova's books had been awarded the most prestigious literary awards, including the Russian Booker, the Yasnaya Polyana, Big Book, National Bestseller awards.
