The residents of Russia have chosen "coronavirus" as the main word of the outgoing year, TASS reports. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).

According to Valery Fedorov, who heads VTsIOM, respondents were asked to choose up to three answers. Most often, survey participants chose the word "coronavirus"- almost 40% of the respondents voted for it. The "price increase" option was chosen by about a third of the respondents. ''QR-codes'' are considered the most popular word by 28% of the respondents.

"Vaccine", "reduced income", "masks" and "distance learning" were also frequent choice of the respondents.

Among the main events of the year, 39% of Russia's residents named a "pandemic". The rise in prices and inflation gained 37%. Mass vaccination against coronavirus - 35%.

The main achievements for the Russians were the victories of Russian athletes at the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, and the fight against the pandemic.
