More than ten million dollars will be allocated by Russia to the UN World Food Program (WFP), TASS reports. These funds will be used to finance projects for the development of school meals. Sri Lanka is going to get $5,5 million, Cambodia - almost $3 million, Laos - $2 million.

In October, Russian humanitarian aid was delivered to Tajikistan within the framework of the UN WFP. The Central Asian republic received almost 1,500 tons of wheat flour and more than 60 tons of vegetable oil. Food for students of rural schools in remote areas of Tajikistan was purchased with Russian funds. Moscow allocated five million dollars, which went to the development of food security in Tajikistan. The money was allocated as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the WFP and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

In November, Cuba received a humanitarian aid shipment from Russia. Moscow donated almost 700 tons of sunflower oil to the residents of the Caribbean republic. The cost of the humanitarian aid was about $3 million.
