The memory of the victims of the plane crash over the Black Sea, which happened five years ago, was honored in the United States, TASS reports. The ceremony participants gathered in New Jersey, near the "Tear of Sorrow" monument by the Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.

The monument is a gift from Russia to the American people in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 1993 and 2001.

On December 25, 2016, Tu-154 plane crashed over the Black Sea. All the passengers and the crew died, including the performers of the Alexandrov Ensemble, journalists, and famous doctor Elizaveta Glinka. About 100 people became victims of the plane crash.

In September, Russian diplomats and emigrants honored the victims of 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.
