Moscow and St. Petersburg win World Travel Awards

Moscow and St. Petersburg have won several awards at the international World Travel Awards, which is called the travel ''Oscar.'' Two Russian cities received one joint prize for the ''Two cities - a million impressions'' project, RIA Novosti reports.

Moscow has won the top award in the category of Best Destinations for Historical Exploration. In addition, Moscow was recognized as the best city in the world for short trips. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin recalled that Moscow has won international victories in the most prestigious tourism categories for a number of years.

St. Petersburg received four prizes, including a victory in the main category of the competition - "World's Leading Urban Destination 2021". It was named the leading city of cultural tourism for the 6th time.
