Russia to celebrate 250th anniversary of Bolshoi Theater

The anniversary of the Bolshoi Theater will be celebrated at the state level in Russia. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the document was published on the official portal of legal information on Monday, January 17. The Bolshoi Theater is turning 250 years old in 2026.

Events dedicated to the anniversary will begin in 2022. Putin instructed the government to form an organizing committee within six months, develop and approve an action plan. The Cabinet of Ministers is also instructed to allocate funds for the implementation of such a plan.

The Ministry of Digital Development was instructed to assist in the coverage of festive events in the media. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide visas to foreign participants in the celebrations. The authorities of the regions are recommended to take part in the preparation for the festivities.
