Seedlings of the 200-years-old Turgenev oak tree can be planted in Bougival (France), where the Russian writer spent the last years of his life, the Kultura newspaper reports. The oak tree grew on the territory of the writer's museum-reserve Spasskoe-Lutovinrovo and was demolished by a hurricane last November

According to the museum,  the experts will consider the possibility of transporting seedlings to France. It is also planned to perpetuate the memory of the Turgenev oak tree in Spasskoye-Lutovinovo. The tree was planted by the writer himself and was been a symbol of the museum for many years.

A hurricane with wind gusts of up to 30 meters per second tore the oak tree 30 meters high from the ground and destroyed dozens of other trees.
