Student's Day celebrated in Russia

Russian students celebrate Tatyana's Day on January 25, which is officially called the Day of Russian Students and has been celebrated since 2005, Parliamentary Newspaper writes. Various celebrations, public events and actions are held throughout the country. 

In 1755, Empress Elizabeth signed a decree establishing the first Russian university. Since then, Saint Tatyana has been called the patroness of students.

Tatyana's Day has been officially celebrated for only 15 years, although the history of the holiday goes back several centuries. Sports tournaments, concerts, theatrical performances, and ice skatings are organized throughout the country.

Students of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod universities are going to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

Russian universities have promised to fulfill the wishes of their students. In Yugra, the "Lucky Question - 2022" action is taking place - students can leave their wishes on the website of the state university. Three of them will be chosen randomly and will be fulfilled on January 25 by Governor Natalya Komarova. The students of the Kant Baltic Federal University can send their wishes to the administration by clicking on the QR code placed at the university.
