The number of students who receive education in Russian universities exceeds four million people. Of these, almost 325,000 came to study in Russia from other countries. This was stated by Russia's Deputy Prime Minister, Dmitry Chernyshenko, the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education reports.

It is very important that students can improve their professional skills, the Deputy Prime Minister noted. This is the only way they can find their place in the labor market.

Last year, about 600,000 graduates managed to find a job in a year after graduation.

Chernyshenko noted that the authorities are introducing additional measures to support students. Two new federal projects have been launched: "Advanced Engineering Schools" and "University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform."  Students will be able to gain practical skills needed for their professions. The authorities also intend to support young entrepreneurs.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov said that the country is introducing additional state-funded places in regional universities. Hundreds of thousands of first-year students will appear in Russia this year. For almost 600,000 of them, university education will be subsidized by the government.
