Most of  Russian tourists, who bought package tours, came home from abroad, RIA Novosti reports. Their return was handled by travel companies with the assistance of Rostourism. About 75,000 people came to the country, or more than 80% of the total number of tourists.

The agency noted that over the past 24 hours, more than 1,500 people have been evacuated home. To do this, charter flights are organized or people are put on regular flights through the territory of third countries.

Today, most Russians remain in Egypt, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the Dominican Republic. There are also many tourists in Vietnam and Thailand.

Specialists from the Ministry of Transport, the Federal Air Transport Agency, and the Foreign Ministry are working almost around the clock to return Russians home.

Tour operators accommodate their tourists in hotels and help them resolve other emerging issues, including visa extensions.
