Thousands of memorials erected in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and military graves in different countries will be restored as part of the annual campaign of the Victory Volunteers movement. The international subbotnik starts on April 16, the Victory of the Russian Federation website reports.

Volunteers in Russia and other countries every year clean up the graves of front-line soldiers who, for various reasons, are left without proper care by family members of war veterans, the organizers noted.

Subbotniks are reported to be held in Lebanon, Tunisia, Serbia, Germany, the DPR and many other countries. Volunteers will also work in a number of distant regions of Russia. For example, monuments to Soviet soldiers located beyond the Arctic Circle will be put in order.
