Russians living in Australia are getting ready to celebrate Victory Day, the Horizont newspaper reports. A procession of the "Immortal Regiment" and a rally with the laying of flowers at a memorial plaque in honor of Soviet soldiers are scheduled to take place in Sydney.

The Immortal Regiment campaign in Sydney is scheduled for May 8. On Victory Day, May 9, a solemn rally dedicated to the memorable date will be held in Waverly Park.

Everyone who wants to honor the memory of their ancestors is welcome to come to the memorial plaque erected in honor of Soviet soldiers. In previous years, tribute to the memory of those who died during the WWII was paid not only by Russians, but also by representatives of other communities, as well as local authorities.

120 countries expressed their readiness to hold the Immortal Regiment campaign this year. The central headquarters of the movement admitted that, probably, the processions will not take place everywhere due to the ban of local authorities in a number of countries.
