Serbian film wins Grand Prix of Mirror International Film Festival

The Grand Prix of the Andrei Tarkovsky Mirror International Film Festival "Mirror", which was held in the Ivanovo region for the 16th time, was awarded to the ''Working Class Heroes'' movie from by Serbian Milos Pusic. The festival was timed to coincide with Tarkovsky's 90th birthday, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The Best Director award went to Askar Uzabaev from Kazakhstan for the Russian-Kazakh film "Happiness", which won one of the programs of the festival in Berlin at the beginning of the year. It also got the Special Prize of independent Telegram channels, which was awarded for the first time.

The program of the Mirror Festival included films made with the participation of ten countries. Directors, screenwriters and actors from Russia, China, India, and Uzbekistan were among the jury members.

The special prize of the jury for professional achievements was awarded to the Colombian-French film ''Rust.'' The Russian drama "Our Own" received a jury award from Ivanovo viewers, who traditionally choose the best works of Russian cinema.

At the closing of the festival, the famous director, friend of Andrei Tarkovsky, Ali Khamraev, received the award "For Contribution to Cinematography" from the hands of Laura Guerra, the widow of the outstanding screenwriter Tonino Guerra.
 
The program of the festival, which lasted almost a week, included over 100 events. Film screenings were held in several cities of the Ivanovo region, as well as at the site of the Tretyakov Gallery.
