The Russian Film Festival (RFF) will cover more than 20 countries this year, TASS reports. According to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, the festival of Russian cinema has already been held in Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, and Azerbaijan.

Free screenings of Russian films and cartoons continue in Kazakhstan. The Russian Film Week began online, on the ivi online cinema. The second part of the RFF will be held in Alma-Ata early next month.

In the future, RFF expects to reach viewers from Belarus, Jordan, Armenia, and Uzbekistan. Options for holding movie weeks in Mexico, India, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates are being worked out.

Lyubimova noted that the festival program this year is based on family movies, dramas, comedies, sports dramas, animation and documentaries.

The festival introduces the foreign audience to the works of Russian filmmakers. According to the head of the department, this is one of the key points of cultural contact between the countries.
