Moscow is expanding the list of Canadian citizens who are banned from entering the country, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. More than 60 people will not be able to enter the Russian territory. Among them are politicians, officials, political technologists, cultural figures, top managers of some banks and others.

New Ottawa sanctions affected officials, journalists and Russian experts.

Last month, Canadian authorities included the head of the Russian Orthodox Church on the sanctions list. Patriarch Kirill was joined by almost 30 people and a dozen organizations. Ottawa accused them of being affiliated with the Russian government and spreading disinformation.

Some heads of Russian state media and large Russian media holdings fell under the restrictions: TASS, Regnum, RT, Channel One, VGTRK, NTV and some others. In addition, the Canadian authorities imposed a ban on the import into their country of gold produced in Russia, and some products of its processing.

The Foreign Ministry promised that Russia would continue to retaliate against Canada's hostile moves.
