World's № 1 tennis player, Russian Daniil Medvedev, won the tournament in Mexico, gaining the 14th ATP title, TASS reports. Russian tennis players Daria Kasatkina and Lyudmila Samsonova won international tournaments in the USA.

In the final of the Mexican tournament, Daniil Medvedev defeated the British athlete Cameron Norrie, who won this competition last year, in two sets. This year, the Russian, who underwent surgery in the spring, became the winner of the tournament for the first time. Previously, he lost twice in the finals.

Kasatkina became the strongest at the tournament in the American San Jose. In the final, the Russian defeated the host of the competition, Shelby Rogers. The victory allowed her to rise to 9th place in the new ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), showing the best result in her sports career.

For Lyudmila Samsonova, the victory at the tournament in Washington was the second in the WTA tournaments in her career. In the decisive match, the 23-year-old Russian woman, who occupies the 60th line in the world ranking, turned out to be stronger than Kaya Kanepi from Estonia.
