Attack of Russian Khmeimim air base is attempt to derail Syrian National Dialogue Congress

Flickr/raduanTerrorists shooting the Russian Khmeimim air base were trying to arrange a provocation, according to the official spokesperson of Russian MFA Maria Zakharova. In her opinion, the people behind the scenes of this attack hoped that this would derail the Syrian National Dialogue Congress, TASS informs.

Russian MFA has reminded that this is not the first similar attempt of terrorists and members of Syrian radical opposition to disrupt positive process of country’s development.

Besides, Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concerns that Syrian terrorists got new armament, which was used to shoot the airbase. The most important question is where this armament comes from.

Maria Zakharova has emphasized that Khmeimim air base is strongly protected by multilevel air defense system, proving its efficiency repeatedly.
The diplomat has reminded that lately terrorists hit the plane of Syrian governmental air forces with portable anti-missile system. This occasion proves that somebody is continuing to supply terrorists with weapons.
