Exhibition dedicated to the memory of Holocaust victims will be opened in the European Council in Strasbourg today, July 3. The exposition is prepared by the Holocaust center with assistance of the Russian Jewish Congress and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti informs.

Historical-documentary exposition under the title Holocaust: Annihilation, Liberation, Salvation displays archived documents and historical photographs from national museums as well as from German, Swiss, Ukrainian stocks.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to get to know about all the ghettos and death camps liberated by the Russian soldiers. They existed in the Soviet, Polish, Hungarian and German lands occupied by the Nazis. Besides, documents and pictures reflect work of the Soviet doctors and nurses who treated and took care of the saved prisoners.

The honored guests of the opening ceremony in Strasbourg would be the Head of the European Council Thorbjorn Jagland and Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Council of Europe Ivan Soltanovsky.

The exhibition will move to Paris in 3 days. It will be accommodated in the UNESCO headquarters. The plan is to demonstrate the exhibition to Deputy Head of Educational Department Stefania Gianni, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to UNESCO Alexander Kuznetsov and Director for International Relations of Wiesenthal Center Shimon Samuels. The Russian deputies had a chance to attend this exhibition when it worked in the State Duma and the Federation Council. Foreigners are also familiar with this exhibition. The pictures were displayed in the UN headquarters, Parliaments of Czech Republic and Uruguay, Israel and the USA.
